At TREE Innovative Foundation (TREEI), we believe that true development begins when technology meets empathy, and solutions are co-created with the communities they serve. Our work is grounded in the conviction that sustainability is not a one-time intervention, but a long-term system — one that respects local knowledge, addresses structural gaps, and builds resilience from the ground up.

Founded in 2018, TREEI works at the intersection of clean energy, inclusive livelihoods, youth empowerment, and decentralised infrastructure. Our approach is field-first and people-led, combining engineering precision, social insight, and design thinking to solve some of the most urgent challenges in underserved regions.

We don’t implement charity. We build systems!

From tribal villages receiving electricity for the first time under Mission URJA, to building supply chains that connect rural women entrepreneurs to urban consumers through Project Eklavya, to reimagining youth readiness with Project Dhruv — TREEI’s work is unified by a single belief:

Tanveer Inamdar

Tanveer Inamdar is a social innovator and systems practitioner who founded TREE Innovative Foundation (TREEI) with the belief that sustainable development must be co-designed with the communities it serves. His work focuses on merging grassroots understanding with scalable, tech-enabled solutions to create long-term impact across rural and tribal India.

In 2018, the TREEI team developed NeerChakra, a patented water solution that reduced the physical burden on over 65,000 rural women and was globally recognized at the Heller Challenge by MIT. Since then, TREEI has continued to innovate with projects like EconPlast, Mission URJA, and Project Dhruv, tackling complex challenges in energy access, women’s enterprise, and youth skilling.

Tanveer’s leadership is rooted in collaboration — with engineers, volunteers, and communities — and under his guidance, TREEI has impacted 400,000+ individuals through inclusive and decentralized systems. His contributions have been recognized by the United Nations, IIT Bombay, and the Global SDG Challenge in Paris, among others.

He continues to lead TREEI with a strong focus on socio-technical upliftment, ensuring the foundation stays aligned to its core values: dignity, decentralization, and design-led impact.
