After the festival, the river needs us.
Post-visarjan clean-up · Mutha riverbed, Deccan
Visarjan is beautiful. What it leaves behind isn't the river's fault. It's ours.
Every year, immersion fills the Mutha at Deccan with idol debris and offerings. Two days after visarjan, we come back together: corporate teams, students and Pune families, giving the river bank its dignity back. Not a protest. A thank you.
This one takes all of Pune, and everyone belongs on the bank.
Corporate partners
Bring your CSR team to the field for a morning of real, measurable impact, with a group photo your people will remember.
College students
Rally your campus, earn a certificate and volunteering hours, and start a river-guardian chapter that outlasts the day.
Citizens & families
Come as you are, with kids, neighbours or on your own. If you love this city's river, there's a bag with your name on it.
Here's exactly how the day runs.
Gather & sign in
Check in at the Deccan point and pick up your gloves, bags and grabbers.
Safety briefing
A quick how-to on handling POP and idol debris safely, and how we'll segregate what we collect.
Riverbed & bank clean-up
The main event, clearing the immersion waste along the Deccan stretch, together, in teams.
Segregate & hand over
Sort into biodegradable nirmalya, POP and plastic or cloth, then hand to the right disposal partners.
Refreshments, photo & river pledge
Catch your breath over refreshments, count the day's numbers together, take the team photo and make one shared promise to the Mutha.
