Mission URJA
From Forgotten Villages to Historic Forts — Powering Progress with Purpose
Mission URJA by TREEI Foundation is a national initiative committed to delivering clean, sustainable lighting solutions to underserved tribal communities and forgotten cultural sites. It blends the spirit of rural development with the responsibility of heritage preservation, creating a unique dual-front impact. The Village Edition brings solar energy to remote tribal settlements, enabling night-time safety, mobility, and dignity for thousands of families who have lived without electricity for generations. Simultaneously, the Fort Edition focuses on reviving neglected historic forts and monuments by integrating solar infrastructure, enhancing their tourism potential while preserving environmental and cultural integrity. Mission URJA is not just about lighting spaces; it is about restoring dignity, creating access, opening opportunities, and preserving legacy.

Mission Urja Village Edition
In some of India’s most remote tribal hamlets, electricity had never arrived until now. Through solar and hydro-based systems, the Village Edition of Mission URJA brings clean, decentralised power where it’s needed most. Designed for terrain, ownership, and resilience, it restores safety, mobility, and dignity — lighting homes, pathways, and the promise of a better future.
Mission Urja Fort Edition
High on forgotten hilltops, many of Maharashtra’s historic forts remain unlit and unprotected, disconnected from both infrastructure and recognition. Mission URJA Fort Edition brings sustainable, off-grid electricity to these cultural landmarks using solar systems and community-led maintenance models. More than restoration, it’s a revival of history, ecology, and local pride, where light safeguards legacy.
