A volunteering day is easy to photograph and easy to forget. The good ones leave something behind on the wall.

In short

Corporate volunteers with TREEI do physical, visible work: Energy Exemplar's team painted learning murals on energy sources, the water cycle and pollution across a school's walls; other teams carry solar poles and batteries up Sahyadri forts or join Program DHARA's river drives on the Mula–Mutha. Company teams can book a day through TREEI's employee-volunteering programme.

What did the Energy Exemplar team paint?

The Energy Exemplar team spent their day on a school's walls, in brushes and white T-shirts, turning bare plaster into a set of learning murals. One wall became Energy Sources: sun, wind and water drawn as the things that power a classroom. Another traced the water cycle, from cloud to river to tree. A third told a harder story about pollution, with factory chimneys and a smog-faced sun. Each wall is now part of the school day for its students.

The murals sit beside something just as practical: solar panels on the school's roof, which the volunteers saw for themselves before the painting began.

The school day sits inside Program DHRUV, TREEI's youth leadership and life-skills programme. Since 2020 it has reached 202 schools and 1,80,000 students, with 6,932 life-skills sessions and 3,800 counselling sessions, figures published on our live dashboard.

What other work do corporate teams do?

  • Fort drives. Volunteers carry every pole, panel and battery up Sahyadri forts on foot for Mission URJA Fort Edition; 876 have climbed so far.
  • River clean-ups. Teams can join Program DHARA's clean-up and planting drives on the Mula–Mutha as its river nodes come up.
  • Making with communities. Artemyn India's team painted diyas in a hands-on session with TREEI.

Why does hands-on volunteering matter for CSR?

Employees who have carried a battery up a fort or painted a classroom wall understand the programme their company funds in a way no report can give them. For CSR teams, that is employee-engagement evidence and due diligence in one day: the people behind the budget see where it goes.
